ANSWER: Divide the top of the fraction by the bottom, and then multiply the answer by 100. Now add a “%” sign.

If you have a calculator handy:

  1. Divide the top of the fraction by the bottom
  2. Then multiply the result by 100 and read off the answer

For example: What is 3/4 as a percent?

  1. Type in 3 / 4 = into your calculator
  2. The calculator should show 0.75 as the answer
  3. Then multiply 0.75 by 100
  4. The answer is 75
  5. Put the “%” after 75 so people know it is “per 100″

So 3/4 converts to 75%
